Opportunity for Volunteer Hours

Hello everyone. I was just told about a great opportunity for those of you who need service hours. If you are able to help out with this event please click on the link at the bottom of this announcement and put your name and UVU ID# on the google Sheet. Then I will send it on to the people who need it.

CLUBS –“Memo From Dean Wright”

Last year the dean’s office ponied up some money to encourage participation in the United Way Day of Caring. I am pleased to provide $100 for each student who participates in the entire activity. This money will not go to the student directly but will be put into the travel/activity fund of the club/organization (s)he represents. It is up to the advisor to determine if this will be an offset against the student portion of travel cost or be put to general use within the student organization.

Please send a list BY TUESDAY of participating students along with their UVID number to Carol Mausser.  We are pleased to take up to 40 student participants.

***** “Memo from President’s Office”

This years United Way Day of Caring will be September 8th and as part of the 75th Anniversary celebration, we are encouraging as much participation as possible. Each full-time employee receives eight hours of service leave each year and can be used to serve in the community. Please see the following information about this years UVU project.

Hello everyone We need some volunteers to staff a table on Wednesday Aug 31st from 7:00 am to 10:00 am in the Sorensen Center, room SC 213. The Accounting departing is holding a Kick-Off meeting for new Accounting majors. To show them what groups and resources are on campus. They have a table set aside for us (Beta Alpha Psi) in order to do some promoting and recruitment. What we need is for 2-3 people per hour to staff the table, hand out pamphlets and flyers, and talk about the benefits of joining BAP. Below is a link to a Google Doc spreadsheet to sign up for a hour time slot. (Links to an external site.) Thanks you guys so much for your help Nathan Merrill VP BAP UVU P.S. Our table is right next to the refreshments that will be served at this event.
